A high performance Jet Boat allowing shallow water transit and working.
The monohull day boat was built in aluminium to USL Code 3B classification and has a waterline length of 13.7 metres, beam of 4.3 metres, and a draught of a mere 0.43 metres.
Propulsive power is supplied by a Caterpillar C18 diesel that delivers a maximum 740kW (l,000hp) to a Hamilton HJ403 waterjet via a ZF BW550 gearbox.
"With the l,00Ohp Cat and the large Hamilton jet, performance has been unbelievable and Andrew is very happy with the fuel economy."
'Hectoo' has a maximum speed of 37 knots, cruises at 22 knots on l,800rpm, and carrying a big payload is no threat to operating ability. Even with 94 pots stacked on the workdeck, the sleek monohull slips along at 20 knots.
The skipper has the choice of three steering stations -wheelhouse, workdeck or flybridge -at which to work.
The Patrol Boat variant (T1613) of this hull is with twin shaft drives and 8 crew and 4 point lifting.
